In this video, I take an in-depth look at the kit, including the surface detail, cockpit, engine, landing gear, clear parts, photo-etched details, masks, decals, and the differences between the early F4F-3 and later F4F-4 versions.

I also take a look at the Eduard aftermarket sets I’ll be using for the F4F-4 build, including the folded-wing conversion, detailed engine and landing gear area, and open gun bay.

The plan is to build both aircraft from this Limited Edition set: an early F4F-3 in the classic pre-war “Yellow Wings” scheme, and a more heavily detailed F4F-4 with one wing folded, one wing extended, an exposed engine, and additional internal detail.

Today we’re taking a closer look at the Eduard Mustang Mk.IV ProfiPACK in 1/48.

This is Eduard’s take on the Mustang in RAF and Commonwealth service, and there’s quite a lot packed into this box. We’ll have a look at the sprues, surface detail, clear parts, photo-etched parts, masks and, of course, the different marking options included in the kit.

One interesting part of this release is that it gives you options for both the P-51D (Mustang Mk.IV) and P-51K (Mustang Mk.IVa), so we’ll also take a closer look at what Eduard provides for the different versions.

Grumman US-2C Tracker - Kinetic - 1/48 - Full build

In this video, I build a Grumman US-2C Tracker in 1/48 scale using the Kinetic S-2E Tracker kit as the starting point.
I couldn’t find a kit of this specific US-2C version, so I decided to build the conversion myself using photographs of the real aircraft as reference.
This project required much more than simply assembling the kit. The wings were modified, the nose was extended, unnecessary equipment and weapons were removed, and many missing details were scratch-built.
I also added extra cockpit details, rebuilt the instrument panel, detailed the landing gear bays and engines, created navigation and landing lights with UV resin, and added rivets, wiring, chipping, weathering and exhaust stains.
Finally, the finished Tracker was placed on a scratch-built aircraft carrier deck with a tow tractor to complete the display.
This was definitely one of my most challenging builds, but also one of the most enjoyable.

This is a follow on video to the earlier videos on the other Buffalo kits, specifically the Tamiya one offering USN aircraft. This one offers not only one USN aircraft in more subdued colors (no golden wings) but also three other options in camouflage covering RAF, RNZAF and Dutch aircraft. This is a lovely kit, and Tamiya has provided all the parts to enable you to accurately model any of the markings options, have a look and you will see what I mean. There is one small omission and maybe I am being too picky but I am still wondering why its not there. Let me know what you think!

In dieser Ausgabe von 'MBK packt aus' wird es fast heimatlich, denn wir schauen uns zwei Bausätze der legendären Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 im Maßstab 1:48 an – ein Flugzeug, das einst ganz in unserer Nähe in Bremen produziert wurde.

Der Hersteller MiniArt liefert uns hier zwei unterschiedliche Herangehensweisen:
🔹 Das Advanced Kit ist ein wahres Detail-Monster! Mit Full-Interieur, einer hochdetaillierten Motornachbildung, Ätzteilen für die Gurte und über 17 Spritzlingen lässt es das Herz jedes Profis höher schlagen. Wartungsklappen können offen oder geschlossen dargestellt werden – ideal für Euer nächstes Diorama.
🔹 Das Basic Kit (JG54 'Grünherz') richtet sich an alle, die ohne viel 'Schnickschnack' ein erstklassiges Modell bauen wollen. Es verzichtet auf die Motornachbildung und Ätzteile, überzeugt aber mit der identischen, hervorragenden Oberflächenqualität und passgenauen Kunststoffteilen.

Beide Bausätze kommen mit erstklassigen Decals von Kartograf und bieten versenkte Nieten sowie feinste Strukturen, die heutzutage 'State of the Art' im Flugzeugmodellbau sind. Die Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9, oft auch 'Langnase' oder 'Dora' genannt, war eine Weiterentwicklung der bewährten Fw 190A-Serie. Um die Leistung in großen Höhen zu verbessern, wurde der Sternmotor durch einen flüssigkeitsgekühlten Jumo 213A Reihenmotor ersetzt. Dies führte zu dem charakteristischen verlängerten Rumpf. Die D-9 gilt als eines der leistungsfähigsten deutschen Jagdflugzeuge des Zweiten Weltkriegs und wurde ab Herbst 1944 eingesetzt.

In this video, I’m building the Airfix P-40 Warhawk Mk.II in 1/48 scale from start to finish. I’ll take you through the complete build, from the cockpit and assembly to painting, decals and weathering.

As always, I’ll also show you some of the tools and techniques I use along the way. Nothing too complicated – just the way I like to build my models.

To finish things off, I also made a small airfield base for the Warhawk, using simple and inexpensive materials. A few figures and some small details bring the whole scene together.

It took a little longer than I planned to bring you another full build, so I really hope you enjoy this one.

This is a full build video of a Italeri 1/48 scale model kit of the Macchi MC.205 Veltro.

The sprues come from Hasegawa, and the decals from Cartograf. The PE pieces and maskes come from Eduard.

The good:
- Simple build with very good fits, minimal fixes
- Great decals, the best way to make smoke rings
The bad:
- You need strong decal stuff to avoid silvering
- Still struggling with AK 3rd gen paints

This is a video build of Eduard’s 1/48 Bf109F-4.

The pilot was Oblt. Frank Liesendahl of 10.(Jabo)/JG.2 based at Beaumont-le-Roger, Normandy.

The kit instructions and some online information say his killed attacking a collier off Brixham, but I believe this to be incorrect… more about this in another video.
