Focke-Wulf FW-190A-7 with Slipper Tank - Dragon - 1/48 - TIMELAPSE BUILD

Presented this week is another "clearing the Shelf of Doom" build (SoD). In this case, the timelapse build is Dragon (DML) 1/48 scale FW-190A-7 "Slipper" testbed aircraft for a drop tank option for the FW 190 which would increase fuel capacity without creating the high drag of standard centerline drop tanks. The experiment succeed in reducing the top speed loss of the focke-wolf. However, the tanks threw off the fighter plane's center of gravity, requring that the fuselage tank be left empty making the configuration ultimately useless outside of Mistel configurations.
