US tank crews used to up-armor their Sherman tanks with various things, but the most common ones were sandbags, steel offcuts or concrete. Or the combination of all of them... However General Patton was big mad about it, because the added mass used to put a lot of strain on the running gear.
So let's take a look at this nice 1/48th scale Tamiya kit and how to add a huge slab of concrete around its hull. And also some stowage!
