Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter - Bandai 5069166 - 1/48 - Unboxing

Bandai's Star Wars kits need no introduction - they're fantastic. Quick and fun builds for new modelers who want an afternoon project or great canvases for more experienced builders to detail. The kits are 'snap-fit', requiring no glue - so even kids can put them together with even the most basic of tools.

The latest addition to this lineup is the heavily modified N-1 Starfighter built for Mandalorian by Peli Motto after his old ship (Razor Crest) gets blown up. Several modifications were added to achieve greater speed in addition to having both laser cannons replaced with larger variants. The ship still retaines the under-slung torpedo launcher beneath its nose. Additionally the front cones of both engines were removed and only the skeleton remained. Panels beneath the cockpit and on the ship's tail were removed during the modification process and seemingly never added back. Motto added Kineso-switch that enabled Mandalorian to access the ship's induction intake charger, which would allow the ship to travel at blinding speeds. To cap off the modifications...the astromech socket was initially also removed and the space converted for a small passenger compartment and transparent observation dome... for Baby Yoda!

All of the yellow paint was removed except a few stripes on each wing, mimicking the Razor Crest's appearance.
