F4F-3 Wildcat - Eduard 11166 - 1/48 - Full Build from Start to Finish

A complete build of Eduard’s 1/48 F4F-3 Wildcat from start to finish.

In this video, I go through the full building process of the early F4F-3 version from Eduard’s 'Battle of Midway' Limited Edition set, covering assembly, cockpit and engine detail, painting, decals, weathering, and the final finishing touches.

For this build, I chose the early F4F-3 in the classic pre-war U.S. Navy 'Yellow Wings' scheme — one of the most distinctive liveries worn by the Wildcat.

Eduard’s recent Wildcat tooling offers excellent surface detail, including recessed and raised rivets, finely engraved panel lines, and detailed internal components. Throughout the build, I’ll show how all of that detail comes together and how I approach painting and weathering the finished aircraft.
